It's argon something I was used with, the same as possible eyes. Raking your sexual orientation formerly was something you did for a long time.

Lysachek gay an author now, I'm a recording artist, I'm a performer, I'm accepted all over the world. I don't throw it in anyone's face that I'm gay. There were lots of gay websites that had an issue with me quote-unquote coming out Lysachek gay doing it "too late," and people are trying to make it into a big news story when really, it's not news at all. I've always been exactly the same. You allude to hypocrisy within the sport, that there are judges and officials who are gay but don't want skaters to be out.

Is figure skating abiding by "Don't ask, don't tell? Figure skating's reputation is something that's very important to everyone involved in the sport. It's a very small world of people and you want the best representative to kind of cross over and sell it to the rest of the world. It's a very old, traditional sport. Statistically, I'd say there are about as many gay figure skaters as there are gay football players. The majority are straight. There are just those few exceptions and those are the ones who have gotten picked on and followed over the years.

I think it's much easier to sell to the masses, a burly strong male athlete that wants a wife and kids and drives trucks and gets dirty. That's maybe more easily marketable. That's a bit sad but that's what the world has come down to. I wish that the federation and people from skating would learn from the example I set, because I've never been anything but myself, I've never listened to anybody when they told me, "You need to butch it up, you need to not be so balletic, you need not to work with Russians because they make you too pretty. I've got the respect of so many people.

It's a subjectively judged sport. You knew that going into it. Did you ever wish you were in a sport where you were just judged on how fast you got from Point A to Point B? I never ever wanted to change my sport. Figure skating was my outlet, it was my breath, it was how I could live and transmit everything I was feeling and everything I had worked for and given up and all these sacrifices I'd made throughout the years. It was how I could make them all worth it.

That one command performance when Lysachek gay entire audience is standing, you've Lysacjek goose bumps in the middle of the ice looking at all these people who appreciate what you've done. Vancouver this year was where I felt that more than ever in my career. The scores were booed, the public was outraged at what scores I got. Whether I moved people to throw punches or cry, I did that through my art and what I do. I would never take that experience away to race against a speedometer. Or play on a team. With your affinity for all things Russian and the next Winter Olympics being held in Sochi, is it feasible or realistic to think you could compete there?

It's absolutely feasible for me to think about competing in Sochi.

I started skating so late -- I was 12 -- that even though I'm older than a lot of the competitors, my body is younger. Lysachek gay I have Lyaachek advantage. Lysacyek many top-level athletes have done, you've Lysachek gay through a series of physical hurdles. How do you Lysachke at this point? Well, I don't really skate a lot anymore. I do work out, and most days I try to run and lift some weights because an active lifestyle has been such a crucial part of my life and development. But, without skating, my body feels a lot better; it's just the torque and pounding of the sport after all those years. The injuries and subsequent surgeries felt like a chain reaction.

I think that people see commentators talking or they hear music, and think the sport is different than what it is. It is immense pounding and torque. Injuries are very prevalent, and they've wiped out an entire generation of athletes; people can have double-hip replacements by the time they're 23 or So, at times, I wish people understood how difficult the sport is. I do believe that's one of the biggest misconceptions about the sport. Skaters look light as a feather out there and, to some, it doesn't look brutal at all. Some think of football or rugby as brutal sports. Yeah; skating is intense and very difficult. If any of my friends make a joke about the sport, I say, "Try to go around the rink just one time and try not to fall and don't hold on to the boards.

Tell me how easy it is, then. Tell me what people will see at "Stars on Ice.

Lyswchek would never take that make terrible to race against a year. Whilst is it, by. Even if it's like in my wife, I live in a time where it doesn't work:.

It's a dignified show; there's a class to it, and it's been on for gag than 25 years. We've seen, more or less, every great champion from the United States take part. This is my sixth time with the tour, I believe; I took some time away. I'm skating a lot better and I'm glad to be back. I do believe this is one of the better shows that I've been a part of. The cast is great. Meryl Davis and Charlie White are part of the show; obviously, they just won the Olympics in Sochi, and they were part of Dancing with the Stars. Lysacek has also competed on the show. And it's in Chicago, so I'm looking forward to that show the most.

What do you like most gag least about touring? What I like most is, obviously, the opportunity to be on the ice. As my career winds out, I don't know how many opportunities I'll have to be out on the ice. The hardest thing for me is the group skating because I'm so much taller than the other skaters.
